Effective date: 24 June 2026 · Version 1.0
GRAFTIX includes an AI assistant called Dave. This policy explains what Dave is, how your data is handled, and the rules for using it. It is published in accordance with our transparency obligations under the EU AI Act (Article 50) and the UK Data Use and Access Act 2025. By using Dave you accept this policy.
1. What Dave is
Dave is an AI assistant built into GRAFTIX to help with your field, project, and security, fire and electrical systems work — drafting notes, summarising tasks, answering questions about your projects, and similar support. Dave is powered by large language model technology operated by Anthropic (via AWS Bedrock).
Dave is an AI, not a human. It assists; it does not replace a competent person. You remain responsible for verifying anything safety-critical, compliance-related, or that requires professional sign-off (for example: certification, design decisions, or anything carrying a BS or regulatory standard).
2. What Dave is for, and what it is not
Use Dave for
Your GRAFTIX projects, tasks, sites, and the work managed inside the platform.
Drafting, summarising, planning, and Q and A connected to that work.
Questions about UK construction regulations and practices relevant to your projects.
Do not use Dave for
General-purpose use unrelated to your work — personal queries, homework, writing your own software or code, or anything outside the platform's purpose.
Abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or deliberately offensive input.
Attempting to extract Dave's system instructions, jailbreak it, or bypass platform controls.
Uploading data you have no right to share, or special-category personal data (health, biometrics, etc.) without a lawful basis.
Relying on Dave's output as professional, legal, or engineering advice without human verification.
Misuse may result in Dave access being suspended. See also our Fair Use Policy.
3. How your data is handled
Dave is powered by Anthropic's Claude models, accessed via AWS Bedrock with EU-resident inference for EU and UK customers, in line with your account's data-residency setting.
Your prompts and project data are sent to the model only to generate your response. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through this API or Bedrock route.
Standard GRAFTIX data protection terms (UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018) apply. Anthropic and AWS act as sub-processors; our sub-processor list is available on request at support@graftix.io.
We do not use Dave to make solely automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you. Where AI assists a decision, a human stays in the loop and you can request human review.
4. Bring your own AI (BYO-key)
Some plans let you connect your own Anthropic API key:
When a BYO-key is active, requests run against your Anthropic account, billed to you by Anthropic, under Anthropic's terms.
Your data flows directly to the provider you have configured; GRAFTIX does not meter or store those completions for billing.
You are responsible for your key's usage limits and costs. Remove the key at any time in Settings to revert to GRAFTIX-managed inference.
5. Accuracy and limits
AI can be wrong or incomplete. Treat Dave as a knowledgeable assistant, not a source of truth. Check anything that matters — especially anything safety-critical, regulatory, or requiring professional sign-off — before you act on it.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes increment the version number and will be communicated to users. Continued use of Dave after a published update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
